Many years ago, a man named Joss Whedon created a ‘Verse where the bad guys were sometimes good, the skies were always full of adventure, and every now and then you’d come across someone who could kill you with their brain.   And the fans deemed this ‘Verse to be good.

But a twisted and sadistic force axed this ‘Verse, believing the fans would soon forget and become interested in moronic reality television.   But it was not to be so.  The fans rallied together, their cries for justice ringing loudly through their oppressors press releases.  And Joss heard the masses and arose from the ashes of the beloved Firefly to film Serenity.

Anyways…the fans turned to one another and joined hands and/or URLs, creating what to become a huge network known as…The Browncoats.  Message boards and websites sprouted up all over the Web.  On one such site, GirlAskew (known to most as Anna) posted about starting a Browncoat group in Greenville. 

And so it was that on September 30, 2006 the Greenville Browncoats officially met for the first time.  Captain Anna planned a viewing party at one of our first members home.   There was much food, fun and laughter.  From that first meeting, our numbers grew.  Our outings became more often.  And our friendships grew stronger.
